Fall Clean up underway

This time of year we clean up all the display gardens. We start with the beds in the sun and cut all perennials back with the exception of the Sedum and grasses. Once we have had a hard frost for a few days we then clean up on the shade beds. Hosta are a lot easier to clean up when the leaves have melted. No knife required. Then lots of time to work on the web site getting ready for the 2011 season.

Daylilies in Bloom is NOW ON!

Best year yet! WOW, every morning I take a stroll and get to see the changes. Out of our collection there are about 200+ already in bloom. The event is on until August 1st and gardens are only closed on Tuesdays. See hours and more photographs on FACE BOOK> or sign up for our News Letter to stay in contact on a more regular bases. Tip of the week!

Tip of the week! When checking out your garden this week if your (Heuchera)Coral Bells have pushed up above the soil level with the frost you need to push them back down to the proper soil level. This is called heaving and it one of the first things when scanning your garden in early spring that needs to be monitored for. Some winters are harder than others. Here in Peterborough we had one of the easiest winters yet. Happy Easter to all!

Happy New year to you all! WOW it was just ten years ago when we were all worried about our computers. I didn't have the web site then. It was uploaded in 2001 thank goodness. lol Stay warm and do not be shy to post. This is a great time to think about the 2010 spring additions etc. Will post some ideas and combos soon!
